Hardware Tracking Software
At my new job they have a lot of laptops out there and out way of tracking them is though excel. I was wondering if any of you have any ideas on a good app to use to track this instead of an excel document. |

What info from the laptop are you trying to track? You could write a WMI script (assuming you are running windows) to run at startup and write to a database (info like serial #, install date, CPU, model, memory, drive info, etc.. can all be pulled this way). You could look at programs like WinAudit as well.. Depends on your needs.. |

While I assume it's over the spectrum of what you need, I currently use LanDesk which does patch management, software distribution, and hardware tracking.
