I visit u.s., get treated regal,
so i stay, who care i illegal?
i cross ocean, poor and broke,
take bus, see employment folk.
nice man treat me good in there,
say i need to see welfare.
welfare say, "you come no more",
we send cash right to your door.
welfare checks, they make you wealthy,
medicaid, it keep you healthy.
i go to college, for me its free,
and now i have a phd.
by and by, i got plenty money,
thanks to you, american dummy.
write to friends in motherland,
tell them come as fast as you can.
they come in turbans and ford trucks,
i buy big house with welfare bucks.
they come here, we live together,
more welfare checks, it gets better.
fourteen families they moving in,
but neighbor's patience wearing thin.
finally, white guy moves away,
now i buy house and then i say.
"find more aliens for house to rent",
and in the yard, i put up tent.
send for family(they just trash),
but they too, draw welfare cash.
everything is very good,
and soon we own neighborhood.
we have hobby it's called breeding,
welfare pay for baby feeding.
kids need denist? wife need pills?
we get free! we got no bills.
american crazy! he pay all year,
to keep welfare running here.
we think america a darn good place,
too darn good for the white race.
if they no like us, they can scram,
got lots of room in pakistan..............

Part of it is that America, for many decades, could have strictly enforced its immigration laws, but too many companies benefitted from illegal immigration labor. Sure, it was illegal, but if it is selectively enforced, then the law was meaningless. 9/11 hits, and, suddenly, having such a porous border is a legitimate security threat.

Despite that poem being rabidly racist (after all, it forgets that U.S. citizen white "trash" can be just as bad, if not worse), *illegal* immigrants have no place here. If I were illegally staying in Europe, would I expect to stay there? No, I'd expect to be booted back to the U.S. If any non-resident alien wishes to live here, then they should do it legally. Otherwise, they should all be deported, without discrimination.

Interesting that you treat Europe as a country... But you're right of course. Most European countries will boot you back if your there illegaly, and rightfully so. Legal immigrants however, they are always welcome IMHO. Of course the possibility of immigrating legally may vary from destination to destionation as well as origin to origin.

And I think the poem is more humorous than racistic, but that's my opinion.

Yes I saw this in the early eighties. It’s been altered to suit the country and strangely enough the UK version appeared on our work fax machine only about a month ago.

I think in a humorous way I would just let this go but as for the seriousness of this. I can't, first and formost, this country was built on the land that was taken from the inhabitants that were already here (my ansestors

). So the illegals ARE the so called founders of this Nation. Hell of a twist huh?

And as for closing the borders... (and I don't see a smilie next to the comment sooo I gather that it is not a humorous comment). Do you know how many of those illegal immigrants work the sh!tty jobs that most if not all of the people that are collecting welfare, who I might add ARE U.S. citizens or collecting unemployment won't do? It's sad to hear some people being ignorant or maybe they just don't care commenting in this fashion.

People complain about the illegals taking jobs away from U.S. citizens... go to the unemployment or welfare offices and ask the people there applying to work 12 to 18 hours a day for minimum or less than minimum wage and have no medical insurance or vacation time and see how many of them would jump for the chance to work.

The way the immigration laws are now it's not the illegal's fault of the way things are this country frowns on illegals comming over here but at the same time alot of the companies hiring illegals are encouraging it. Sucks don't it. There countries are either poverty riddin or they just don't have the type of living standard as us here. Now most of us on this forum have good jobs of one sort or another, but what would you do if one day you lost your job and could not find ANYTHING. Would you go work in the fields for 3 to 5 dollars an hour with no benefits 12 hours a day 6 days a week.

History can provide some interesting comparisons about who shafted whom especially in economic issues. Countries (and empires) both great and small have all done this sort of thing; it’s the history of the word from the first great military empires (Romans) onwards and upwards to today, where the predominant empire is the US assisted by the UK. Well we won’t go down that road here.

Economic issues in relation to profit making operations are everything; you work twelve hours a day for less than or equal to the minimum wage (which might be vastly more than you could earn otherwise) and in return “the company” gets rich, that’s the way it works outside of the mainstream. Racist? Discriminatory? You bet, but that’s the nature of the corporate game. If it becomes politically expedient (you nearly get caught) then the “company” will move it’s factories to whatever country provides the best/easiest environment (cheapest workforce/best subsides). This is called exploitation and is now embedded in corporate thinking. These countries have poor legislation regarding employee’s rights and in some you can, by the use of bribes, do just about anything you like.

If you’re in IT your job will probably end up in India or Russia as they have a surplus of qualified personnel in this field working for about a tenth or twentieth of your wages, it’s going to happen and in fact is already happening. Large Bank’s call-centres are already doing this on a global scale helped along by the Internet.
The trick is that the profits come home but the employment does not. This will eventually lead to enormously rich and powerful global corporations having to provide their home employees with their own protected environments and the rest of us will join the third world countries relying on “state handouts”. This system is already in place and working albeit on a small scale.

Look at where everything is produced (manufactured) especially in technology it’s not in the western hemisphere but the Eastern where costs a far cheaper.

And whose fault is all this? Why it’s ours.

These systems have been around for years and years and until resently have they begun to change the qualifications and actually made people applying or receiving these benefits go out and look for and get gainful employment.

But still some will screw the system so they don't have to work and those pesky illegals that everyone screams about take those oooooh sooooo important jobs that everyone is dieing to get.

Well the sad part is that for the most part this little poem I came across is acurate. I do belive that we need to have controled borders, and controled immigration. Hell myself and most likely 99% of everyone here is an immigrant in one form or another. (Unless your 100% native american indian, in which now you don't care, you have all the casinos

I also belive that illegal immigration does hurt our country. Yes, illegals take the jobs most of us wouldn't want, but they are still jobs. And those knuckle busting, back breaking, unrewarding jobs, are what made our parents, and great grand parents, and so on, the people they were. Look at our society today. Sorry to say, but it is a **** hole! People don't respect each other, they don't treasure what they have, and don't feel like they should have to earn and work for what they want. They all want everything handed to them on a silver platter.
Why, because they didn't have to do the crap jobs (that the illegals are doing now), they don't have to work their asses off for pennies on the dollar, so they have no incentive to better themselfs.

And really who do we have to blame for this. US! We are the problem. We are everything that every country has said about us. Were lazy, stuck up, and think that world revolves arround the almighty dollar.

Granted I was raised better than this. My parents NEVER gave me anything. If I wanted it I had to work and earn it. I have worked since I was 12. I am proud of everything I have, and take damn good care of it too. I am sure a few of you were raised the same way.

So, how do we fix this problem? Simple. Control our borders and legal immigration. Impose extreammly heavy fines for companies that use illegal labor. And limit Welfare the same as unemployment.

What does that do? It forces the lazy, life sucking people to work! Controls immigration and our population, and drives up job demand. And it eases the usage of our economic resources.
