Default TV decoder?

**first of all, id like to ask to have this thread closed immediately if the contents in it are considered a form of piracy or something like that...**

i have a satellite dish on my house's roof. it has the chance to give two signals. one of them goes to the livingroom. the other is unused. to view the signal one has to use one of those little black boxes which have a sort of plastic card in them. is it possible to view this signal in a pc using a tv tuner and some sort of decoding program (if so, which prog is it)? or is it viewable already if connected to the pc?

thx, Apu

Yes, what you are suggesting is piracy, unless you pay Direct TV for 2 receivers.

No, there is no program that will do it. You need a hardware decoder to convert the satellite signals to something a PC TV tuner can receive.
