I am thinking of updating my video card. Am not sure if physical dimension of card or my system is suitable for such an upgrade. Will upgrade to vista when SP1 is released. All drivers/bios are current.

My computer is used for flight simulation (MFSX) and general computer usage.

Leadtek suggest 450watt power supply minimum requirement for their 8800gtx 768mg card. My research reveals conflicting/confusing opinions.

Specifications for my Antec power supply are:

If it was a Truepower II model I'd say ok. The Smart Power are a "less robust" model.

I ran it through the PSU calculator at:

And you're right on the edge. With a Smart Power model I'd say upsize the PSU.

I am going to say you need more , i use the 8800GTS 640mb and I have a 550watt Ultra Xconnect 2 SLI ready power supply no problems ...but for the GTX I say you need at least what I have if not more.
