Trying to figure out how come a couple of days ago why my HDMI isn't working. Trouble is, I don't know if it's the video card or the monitor. Video card is X800XL ( a couple years old), and the monitor is an ACER AL2216W (two months old). It was working fine until two days ago. Now I am using the regular video output of the X800XL connected to the regular video input of the monitor. I installed fresh, updated drivers from ATI, to no avail. I don't really have another computer with HDMI output, or another monitor with HDMI input. Your Thoughts? Thanks in advance, Heeter |

Update:
I remembered that my ATI card came with a DVI/video adapter. I tried that adapter and connected my regular blue video to the adapter. It is working, tried a different DVI wire, still no go. So now I know that it's the monitor DVI input that isn't working anymore. Thanks, Heeter |

Are you sure you have not accidentally selected the VGA input for your display instead of the DVI ?
I know on my Dell display, the input can be changed by pressing one button. Just check and make sure this is not the case. If everything else is fine, perhaps the monitor has a minor issue. |

You say that it used to work, but now it does not. Did you change anything before it stopped working?

I didn't change anything, just quit working. Right in the middle between reboots.
I have tried the analog/digital selector on the monitor to no avail. It just keeps going back to analog. Heeter |
