Default Widescreen

I have a an nVidia Geforce fx 5600 with TV out. Is there any way to set the tv out to give correct proportions for a widescreen 16:9 format. The current all work on 4:3 normal tv layout.

Can't you change the res to a 16:9 resolution? That's what I have here, with a Radeon though.

1280x720 is the most sensible 16:9 resolution, though it might look a bit small on a tv.

I doubt that a TV can handle that resolution.

a tv can "display" any resolution you throw at it - just that 1280x720 will probably be unreadable. i find that on my tv i can only read text if its at 800x600 or less, so i would suggest using something like 800x450 if you want a readable display. As thats not a standard res, u might try entering it in the change resolutions > add custom mode thing in the nvidia display settings. But i dont know if you can adjust the main display and tv seperately though.
