Default GPU Scaling

So this is something I've seen before, but I never really tried it out until now. However, I don't know exactly what it does. I have a feeling its not ATI specific either (but I don't have an nVidia card to check).
And before you mention "Google search it" the problem was I found mostly results about issues or fixes.
So GPU Scaling does what? Is it worth using?

Default Re: GPU Scaling

It's mainly for if you have a screen that doesn't do 1:1 scaling of non-native resolutions. Doesn't always work though depending on the screen.
