I'm for it.
One of the biggest things that hold new technology back is that nobody is ready for it. So if you start slipping consumers more powerful stuff at the same price, it will make implementing new technology that much easier. It's like DX11..."It's awesome, but there's no games for it. Even if we make a DX11 game, nobody will have the hardware so we will just continue making games with DX9." Then games are forever limited to DX9 until an adequate number of consumers have DX11 capable cards. The field is even larger for multithreaded apps. |
