Suggestions for 1TB NAS

I'm looking for a 1tb nas or external driver (firewire), for media storage. one that possibly could be expanded, but mostly one around $1000.

Do you mean an external drive? If this is what your are looking for here is a sugestion get http://www.netgear.com/Products/Stor...age/SC101.aspx

and then buy yourself 2 750GB ide drives for a total of 1.5tb I know it is a network drive but this may be a better way to go.

i read the reviews on newegg, that just ripped that a new one, i'm not sure i want to spend so much for something that could **** up so badly.

I would keep an eye on the Maxtor OneTouch III. It comes in 1GB but not in NAS yet (rated very well too).

However, the Maxtor Shared Storage II drive does come in 1TB right now.

^^Also a good point, you can get a shell and put the hard drives in yourself. I believe NETGEAR has one for just over $100 -
