New workstations

Hey all you techies, I posted a thread several months ago, complaining about the faulty capacitor issue we are having with our Dell Optiplex GX270's, and happily discovered that we are not alone. We are looking to purchase about 30 new workstations Q4 of this year, and I have to say my experience with these GX270's did not secure my future business with Dell products. What are some recommendations for comparable units. The config. will be pretty standard, WinXP, MS Office, and some other normal CPU intensive programs.

Assuming you still plan on going with the Optilex, the GX620's are phenomenal. I like the re-design of the chassis alot, very nice machines

i have 95 GX 280's coming in next week. Overall they arent that bad for work machines.

GX280's are great, MUCH better than the GX270's. I still prefer the GX620's though, really sexy

I also like, from a user support standpoint, the diagnostic LED's being on the front. This can help if you ever have to do something over the phone

SC430

Dont ever try and use a PE1800 for a workstation though. weigh a freaking ton
