I was about to purchase an X1 but I think it makes sense to get the 420 now.
Three questions: 1) Okay, I'm a computer dummy. What is the diff. between solo and dual core? Will price be affected when dual core is released? 2) The X1 that I played with got super hot from having no vent/fan. Does the 420 solve this? 3) Any idea how long the battery lasts w/4 cell? Thanks! |

1. Core Solo = One CPU core, Core Duo = Two CPU cores (better for multitasking)
2. That would be a question for Saz 3. 4 cell, I would estimate 3-4 hours. |

If I don't have any extreme or special needs for the 420, is it still worth waiting for the dual core? Not sure I really understand the difference or if it's something that would really affect me...

The D420 is rumored to have a 7 hour battery life from what I have read

There will likely be a good sale for the X1 so that could well play to your advantage.
~4.5 hrs or so for the 6 cell. Upto 7/7.5 hrs for the 9 cell. Again, depends on usage and all that jazz. |

Would the 420 dual core make a difference in battery life? When do you think the dual core will be available? Does the 420 have a fan?
Do you think the 420 is a real improvement if I was thinking about the X1? I want the best ultraportable but I don't need it for anything extraordinary i.e. graphics, gaming etc. |
