Default CPU Upgrade...

Which CPU would be better to get for an Abit AN7 Motherboard...

An Mobile-XP 3000+ (266FSB, 2.2Ghz, but from what I understand very O/C capable)

or

An XP 3200+ (400FSB, 2.2Ghz)

I haven't decided whether I want overclock or not.

eVGA 780i (nForce v15.17)
Intel Q9450 Quad-Core (Running @ 3.2Ghz w/1600Mhz FSB)
Zalman CNPS9700 LED CPU Cooler
OCZ Platinum PC2-8500 4Gb DDR2 RAM (4x1GB, Dual Channel)
eVGA 8800GTS(G92) 512 x2 SLI (GeForce v177.79)
Samsung 750Gb SATAII HD x2
LG GSA-H55N/L DVD+/-RW x2
Thermaltake Armor VA8003BWS Black Case
Ultra X3 1000W PS
Windows XP:Pro SP3
Gateway FHD2400 24" 1920 x 1200 LCD

not 100% sure on this, others may have a better opinion, but i'd say the latter of the 2. getting a mobile processor for a desktop PC seems just uncanny. i'd stick with the XP 3200+

Core 2 Quad Q9450 | 4GB DDR2 800 | Abit IP-35 Pro | eVGA GTX 295+

I Love Windows 7!

I had a mobile for my Nforce 3 Motherboard. It didn't ever boot up. Replaced with another and it worked fine. My mobile experiment was quite by accident (ordered the wrong part). Are they actually designed to work in regular desktops?

the mobile part and the desktop part are identical save for a bit of copper across a bridge on the surface of the chip.
