router problems

i have a wireless router hooked up to two computer upstairs.the fist one every time i shut down the computer and turn it back on it's not on line.what do i have too do to fix it

Make sure the PC is set to get a DHCP address automatically. Look under network settings.
 
Have you setup security on your wireless ?
e.g: Encryption, MAC address filtering, disabling SSID, Firewalls ... etc
 
Also, check to make sure that if you are using non-major namebrand wireless NIC cards that you are running the software that came with them. I have found that when I install them on other people's computers, they work better with their own software than without is (letting Windows handle all of the connections).
