Creative Inspire 5.1 5200

I have a Creative Sound blaster live 5.1 card but I cant get the center speaker to work no matter what. I've literally tried everything. The center speaker doesnt work for my dvd's or games.
Where do I go from here?

Did you try to set your speakers to 5.1 in the Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel?

That was the first thing I did. Then I went to creative surround mixer and the speakers to 5.1, but still no center speaker.

Did you make sure you connected the center speaker in the right place?

hmmm...I have those speakers as well...and come to think of it...my center speaker has never worked either..

I thought that the soundblaster live supported the center speaker in dvds and games.

seems like it should...maybe is does now since I upgraded my driver...i will check when i get home

hmmm...I downloaded the latest driver off Creative's site but the date on the driver after it's installed says 7/24/2002 and the version is 5.12.2.252....thing is...on the webpage...it says the date of the driver should be 2/28/2003?? That makes no sense to me...

it could be that the Centre speaker and the sub need to be reversed.... (they use the same connector)

creative labs have their own control panel.. if you havent installed it already... do so... it'll make life a lot easier...

they make excellent hardware... if only their drivers were half as good

/me seriously hates CL's driver team...

and I thought ati pre-radeon 8500 were bad

I fixed it just had to do some reconnecting. Thanks for the help guys.
