I am usin XP Pro. i have this connected to my IDE. chan. 1 > Seagate 7200rpm 40gb hdd (master) > Maxtor 7200rpm 8mb cache. 120gb hdd (slave) this is my IDE chan 2 >> TDK 52x burner (master) >> Sony Dru500a DVD Burner (slave) now i have a 40gb hdd that has all my music on it and when i plug it in to ide chan. 3 (master) it will boot then ask me to install a driver. after i install a driver it wont boot. I just want it to be like another hdd. i dont want it to mirror anything. |

go into the bios and see if you can change the functionality of your onboard raid channels to ATA. that's the way mine works.

Also, what is your boot order
HDD-0, SCSI, CD-ROM? RAID is usually the scsi |
