Default Hard Drive Image to CD-R/W
I have a Sony external CD burner, and I need to know what software to use, I need to be able to back up a Hard Drive through a bootdisk..

Norton Ghost won't work (I've already tried it)

Try Acronis TruImage, it images hard drive while in windows, and restores thru bootable cd ; more user friendly than Ghost.
