I just bought a Dell Latitude D600 Laptop. According to it's specs (located here) It has " One Smart Card reader " I'm wondering what this does, and what can be done with it. What is a smartcard exalty, and how would you obtain one? Thanks, lieb39 |

Smart Cards can basically be used for security and authentication purposes. I can also be used for storage, but security is the primary application at the moment.
