My older drives work fine in my comp for many days. I had them in my PC for over a year. I think it's a bad batch of drives. When Newegg refunds my money I'll go get a Maxtor locally and see if the same thing happens. Maybe my PC doesn't like a drive over 80G? ![]() The PC it was in is the one in my sig... Oh, in case you are wondering, the FSB was not overclocked when I got the second drive because I thought maybe WD drives are real sensitive to PCI clock values. Even so, my FSB was only O/C'd to 138, which equates to a 34.5MHz PCI clock. |

I have to say on WD seem to have a split consumer base, those who hate them, those who have no preference and those that love them. Although i suppose this is tru for any product but this has always struck me about WD the most for some reason.
I have used Maxtors for every one of my computers so far, never had a drive go bad, apart from the one i dropped It seems if people have a good experience with a particular brand early on in the computing experience then they tend to stick with them.
