Unhappy SCSI HDD Install issue -Win XP-Pro

Am having problems installing additional SCSI HDD's.
System spec's are as follows:

Windows XP Pro SP1 build 2600 OEM (registered)
All available updates from Windows Update website
installed as of 3/9/2003

Pentium 4 2.0GHz
SOYO P4S Dragon Ultra
GeForce 4 MX 440 64MB DDR
512 MB 2700
S.B. Live

Adaptec 19160 SCSI Host Adapter
Seagate ST318436LW 18GB Ultra 160 (ID 0)
Western Digital WDE 18300 Ultra 2 (ID 5)

Mylex Flashpoint LW Model : BT-950 PCI SCSI Host Adapter (Ultrawide)
Plextor Ultraplex Wide CD-ROM
Plextor Plexwriter 12x10x32S

USB 2.0 expansion card with VIA chipset
Ricoh RW5125 DVD+RW drive in external USB 2.0 drive case

Ok, after trying to install additional Ultra 160 hard drives, I get the following error message which concludes the hardware wizard:

“Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware:
IBM DPSS-309170N SCSI Disk Device

An error occurred during the installation of the device
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.”

I have tried to install 2 different Hitachi 160 drives and received the same message. All additional drives were set to ID 1 (only 1 at a time).
Interestingly enough, although the drives appear in Device Manager with a yellow exclamation point, I can actually read and write to them. However, every time I re-boot causes the Hardware Detection Wizard to run again with the same error message.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Tim

Do you have the id's set corectly? It sounds like your relying on windows to manage your SCSI chain.

don't waste time, procrastinate now!

As I said, ID's are all different. I wouldn't be able to access the drives otherwise.

All drives are detected ok by the 19160 card.
