Question Way off topic here...

This question is to all of you who own a mini-disc anything. I'm considering purchasing a portable mini-disc player/recorder for my MP3's on the go...

The only piece of information I desire before I make my decision is this: How many megabytes can a mini-disc hold. All I seem to find is how many "hours" can be played etc...

I want to know if I am gaining a good amount more storage space than your typical 64mb or 128mb "stick" based players.

Is a mini-disc 200mb? 400mb? Why isn't this information revealed on Sony's website?

Thankyou for your replies.

From what I can find they start at 120MB and some go up to 140MB or 160MB.

they are about 160mb but there is a massive compression software built into the burning process too so it helps a lot

Kool so far, now this question... I encode all of my MP3's at 128k. Assuming average length songs (where I know I can get about 140 on a CD), what can I expect on a mini-disc? Roughly 30 - 50 songs?

Ideally, is there anyone out there who does what I am talking about? How many MP3's can you fit on your mini-disk, and at what bit-rate?

Thankyou again, please keep the replies flowing!

Try to find one that does mp3Pro get twice as much songs on as regular MP3, if they make them yet, don't know.

Thankyou MdSalih, that info helps. I think I've got enough information now to make my decision, but any further info is welcome.

Thankyou all.
