Default 35mm slide transfer

Can you get home use, decent results from any current equipment? If so, what do you recommend? I have thousands of slides that I would like to put on DVD.

I wouldn't try a flatbed scanner for 35mm. You'll get junk results. They work fine for medium format and 4x5 slides. Go on ebay and search for a 35mm dedicated scanner. The price really is related to the DPI. Anyone that will do 2400dpi and above will do you just fine. I have three of these, and one of these does 4000dpi. Not required and makes a Giant file. I also have an old Artictec that I bought for $125.00 five years ago that works perfect, but is parallel port input. You can find these now for $40.00.
