Default Upgrade Case

If I were to replace my front panel with an updated version, with USB 3.0, I have the HAF 932 original model.

Does that require my motherboard to support 3.0?

I am assuming the only way I can get USB 3.0 support is through a PCI card? Correct (assuming my motherboard does not support it)

If the new USB 3 front panel has the new USB 3.0 header for internal connection to the motherboard than a board that does not support USB 3 (does not have USB 3 header) would not work as the header has changed.

Easy enough to change the pins in the case header or pull them and insert into an old style header.

The USB3 pinout has a different configuration to the USB2 pinout – plus 11 more pins.
