The computer is about 4-5 years old. Still works great except the DVD drive no longer opens. When I push the button I get a soft sound of movement (I can see the exterior bay cover moving slightly) followed by another or the same soft sound at which point the movement stops. About 6-7 seconds later I hear another very similar or identical sound and then a green light flashes for a couple seconds in a translucent strip of black plastic located just under the DVD bay. As near as I can tell all connections are in place and properly seated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Glenn |

Probably a dying servo or worn gears? Do you have a disc stuck in the drive? There should be a very small hole that you can insert a paper clip into to manually open the drive. Sounds like it's time to buy a new drive.
