That is an 8-core being compared to a 6-core. Of course the 8-core will win. I look for intel to come out with an 8-core soon anyhow. And that will kill the AMD big time.
Is AMD supporting triple channel memory yet? |

I was thinking more terms of cost than overall performance

The 8 core winning is not necessarily guaranteed, it depends on how easy the load is to distribute among those cores ... how easy is it to parallalize the code doing the actual work?
