It looks good but it has a potential to be really cheesy and corny. I'm worried about that.

It looks like the same movie thats been done a thousand times only "better" effects. Personally I'm waiting for Hero. Looks pretty interesting.

It was better than I expected... thankfully the cheesy one-liners were minimal, and the effects made it pretty fun. I had low expectations going in so I was satisfied with having them surpassed.

There is a storyline, because if there weren't then I would have ripped the movie apart.
Character development is done in the beginning, establishing different relationships and conflict that exists between characters. The basic screenwriting formula is mostly followed throughout, which makes it kind of a "cookie-cutter" movie, but at the same time guarantees that all of the necessary elements exist.*WARNING* Minor spoilers ahead... One thing that bothered me was that I had little sense of the progression of time in the movie. At least a week passed once the disaster started occurring, but there were only hints given as to how long people had been stuck, such as "it's been days since we've had anything to eat." I think this was somewhat intentional in order to make the story more believable, especially considering the journey from Philadelphia to New York City. But still, if time is supposed to be an enemy then it needs to be treated as a real enemy. |

The movie sucked according to some of the reviews I've read. Shrek 2 is still on top. I think I don't want to see The Day After Tomorrow. I am rather looking forward to Shrek 2 which I still haven't seen. =)

If I didn't clearly state it, I did see the movie... so any comments I made are on account of what I saw.
![]() @hsn - The reviews are nearly split 50/50, so for nearly every bad review there is a good one. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/TheD...orrow-1132625/ |
