Question clear type ?

A friend of mine has a dell inspiron laptop with windows xp home and had clear type working fine, but her computer was running slow so I showed her ways to make her computer a little faster and set her desktop to classic and clear type stopped working even when I went back to windows xp theme. I checked to see if clear type was still checked and it was. I did also check the visual styles in the performce section of my computer properties and made sure show drop shadows under screen icons and labels was checked and it was.

How can I get it working again?

The reason it may not work anymore if you need to tune it again.

Here's the Microsoft ClearType tuner application:

It creates a icon in Control Panel, there is a web version as well but this is much better. It should've been included with XP, not sure why it wasn't.
