Default PSP WiFi

ok...so i bought the psp wifi max..which is basically a usb dongle that connects to your computer which acts as a wifi point so your psp can connect to it.
iv set the whole thing up....i scan on my psp....i find my computer.....i try and connect but its says ' a connection error has occured. the attempt to obtain the ip adress timed out.'

please help me..this is really bugging me and i can find no help online.

Have tried everything i can find. Iv tried starting from scratch but it just wont do it!!!

Possibly a setting within your computer that doesn't allow things to connect to it?
Im taking a shot in the dark here.
I have never used wifi max.

Are you sing any firewalls ? I have never used the usb dongle we use a wireless router ...
