If a xbox 360 is supposed to be so good why dont people buy them for the cheap parts then load windows on it?

It hasn't been released yet! Besides, the PowerPC CPU's in the Xbox360 are manufactured by IBM. Windows XP is compiled for the x86 architecture and would not run on the system. Other parts like the GPU most probably wouldn't have the same form factor as the ones used in PC's today.

I think the hard disk is just about the only thing you would be able to use in a regular PC.
