KILLZONE 2 (demo) PS3 Review

Last night I made a second account on my PS3 Network just to download the demo which is only available from the PS UK store.

I have already pre-ordered the game but I wanted a see for myself. its a demo so I know the finished product will be fine tuned......After reading the reviews on the net, the single player campaign is really good but the heart of the game is multi-player where this game shines.

I am going to rate on a scale of 1-5 in which 5 is the highest.

Graphics 4.5

What else can I say? The visuals are stunning. the look and feel of the surrounding environment is dark/grimey and war torn with an industrial sheen. The details are spot on with this game. mind you its a demo. but the backgrounds like water effects could have been better why i left the .5 out.

Controls 4

I played the first KILLZONE for the PS2, it was a good game but felt loose on controls. This version has greatly improved. The feel and the movement of the player is very realisitic. almost too real!! The firing of the weapons and crosshair could have been more accurate. but the designers wanted this game to feel "real" so bottom line you must get used to it.

AI - 5

The AI in this game/demo is probably the best I ever seen in a FPS. example: the enemy knows when you are shooting at them, and re-establish a safe position from your rounds. every enemy solder acts different. like a living being that "thinks"

Your squad is just as good, covering you when you need cover, never getting in your way. at least on the demo. Good stuff!

Overall Feel 4.5
what can i say more about this game. when developers take their time and want to put out a great game they do. This game proves it. cookies cutter FPS are everywhere, but this game feels different in a good way, and I welcome it!! :smoker:

To buy or not?

If you own a PS3 This game is a must in your collection. even if you are not a FPS fan. you will like this game. I know the review is short and sweet.

4.5 out of 5 OSNN stars!

This is just a rant....
Seriously, Nero "used to be" a pretty good piece of burning software. I stopped using it along time ago when Free open source options became available that are much better in Ripping burning CD's DVD's ans the like..etc..etc.

I happened to notice today that Nero's latest software is 370 MB!!!!!! :dead:

According to this article Kojima says MGS4 for the PS3 is too big for Blu-Ray. So I say what are the poor saps that want to play on their 360 have to deal with?........
