About two months ago I shared a personal tragedy with everyone. For reference see My Wife.
I wanted to pass along some terrific news and hopefully inspiring to some.
I have learned and grown so much in the past two months it's amazing. I feel like a kid again.
On Wednesday, October 8th, I felt like I was ready to take my wedding ring off. I had actually already tried briefly with some soap, but it was really tight and I didn't get anywhere. I decided to google what other widowers did with their rings. The hit I looked had people talking about switching the ring to their right hand, putting it on a chain, and others just took it off completely.
Either that forum was related to a free dating service or someone there mentioned a one called PlentyOfFish. I was in the mood to talk to someone, but noone in particular that I already knew. I decided what the heck, and I signed up.
Before I even got a picture up of me, I had looked at some matches that the website suggested. Women who I thought it said were online but it turned out actually that I was misinterpreting the website. I ended up being contacted by three women who's profiles I had looked at.
After a couple of days of talking through IM, the first one who had contacted me agreed to meet with me. We had a very nice dinner and we stayed at the restaurant for three hours! It was very enjoyable and relaxing, and exciting too.
We've seen each other three times now and we talk every single day except for right now she's out of town. One Sunday we spent the entire day together went by so fast we couldn't believe it. Not only that but we didn't even eat besides going out for breakfast, and we didn't even notice or get hungry.
Let me repeat myself, I feel like a kid again.
Thanks for listening.
