Dear Julie,
We want you to be the first to know that Buzz Corps as a company will soon be evolving into its new identity: Ivy Worldwide. The rapid growth of social media has given us the opportunity to overgrow our boundaries, and along with that evolve the concept and name of our company. While our company name and offerings are changing, we will still carry out the same philosophy which is that we work with the community to create programs that deliver mutual benefits for your sites and our clients. Without the support you have shown us and the lessons we have learned from you, this growth would not have been possible. Thank you.

With the new name we’ll also need a new logo and this is where we would like to ask for your help.

We know there are a lot of talented people on sites like yours who might be looking for some extra cash or a way to show their creative skills. If possible, would you mind sharing the word with your readers about our logo design contest? Hopefully one of your readers might win the grand prize of $2500 cash or other prizes like an HP Mini, HP Printer or Wacom Tablet. For full contest details visit: www.ivyworldwide.com
We already have a number of bloggers who have agreed to help promote the contest, but of course, the more the merrier! We will also need your help to judge the entries. The finalists’ entries will be posted to the IN network, where you can view them and vote on your top choice. The contest will launch Friday May 29th.

Thanks in advance for your help.

When Buzz Corps approached me about reviewing and blogging about the new HP Mini Vivienne Tam Edition I was a bit hesitant at first. After asking a number of questions and seeing pictures/video I was hooked. The laptop is cute, it's pretty, but it doesn't make me cringe and run away. Really!

It's a really nice color of deep red with pink peony's and black around the screen. There's nothing ugly about this laptop. It's light weight and elegant. No matter where I go, when I take it out of my purse women drool over it, even men seem to admire it. The women turn into little girls, squeaking with glee and delight at how cute my laptop is and asking "where can I get one?". My daughters and sisters, who aren't into the techie scene have asked me if I can get them one.

While it is very light, only 2.5 pounds, easy to pop open and work on just about anywhere, it stays much cooler than my other HP laptop.

Operaring System: Genuine Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3

           Processor: Intel(R) Atom(TM) Processor N270 (1.60GHz)

           Memory:1GB DDR2 System Memory (1 Dimm)

Hard drive: 60GB 4200RPM PATA Hard Drive

Graphics card: Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 950

Display: 10.1" diagonal SD LED BrightView Infinity Widescreen Display (1024 x 576)

Personalization: HP Mini Webcam with HP Imprint Finish (Vivienne Tam)

           Networking: Wireless-G Card

Included Mobile Broadband:No Included Mobile Broadband

           Keyboard: HP Color Matching Keyboard

Primary battery: 3 Cell Lithium Polymer Battery

The laptop comes standard with two USB ports, one of which is being used for the remote mouse, a headphone/mic jack, a network jack, an expansion port, an SD card reader, and a security cable connector. Also standard, a camera/video cam, speakers, which for such a tiny thing, work amazingly well.

Like anything in life nothing is perfect not even my Tam as I so lovingly call it. Now for a few cons. The first thing I noticed, there's no CD/DVD ROM yet it comes with a recovery disk. Now I know I can go to my local techie store and purchase an external CD/DVD ROM but would the normal, everyday business woman? I think HP needs to seriously consider making this a standard feature

A few criticisms:
The first thing I noticed, there's no CD/DVD ROM yet it comes with a recovery disk. Now I know I can go to my local techie store and purchase an external CD/DVD ROM but would the normal, everyday business woman? I think HP needs to seriouly consider making this a standard feature.

The laptop goes to sleep a too quickly when your half-close the lid. While it wakes up quickly, much quicker than any other laptop I've worked with, I wish it didn't go to sleep until the lid was actually closed.

The hinge on the case could open a little wider. While it goes past 90 degrees it doesn't go far enough for my needs. I type in my lap, not on a desk and while placing a pillow under the laptop does help, it's not something I want to grow accustom to doing.

I love that there's an intergrated webcam but the image seems quite dark. If you're not outside on a bright day or near a very bright light, there's no hope of anyone actually seeing you. I'm not the only VT user who's coomplained about this issue, most of the bloggers have noticed and commented on this as well. Much to our surprise Sarah Burn with HP Product Development who, along with roughly 20 other bloggers from around the country who were flown to New York City for Fashion Week (I'll get to that later), has a solution to this annoying issue. The short video below, courtsey of Judie Lippsett of Gear Diary, explains how you can fix your own webcam. I personally haven't tried this yet as I'm busy typing my review.

A few wishlist items:
Two holes in the case where I could attach straps, near the hinge would be perfect so I could use a shoulder strap instead of having to put it in my purse, I have enough stuff in there.

As we get older our eyes deteriorate and the gold lettering on the red keys is difficult to read especially in low light. It's pretty and perhaps HP is going for the more esthetic look rather than functionality. If that's the case maybe HP would consider backlit keys. Since all of the keys have a little bit of texture to them the less prominent raised bumps on the F and J keys make it trickier to type as most of us touch type and feel for those raised bumps.

A side from a few minor fixes, this mini is a great deal. It's made pleasing to the female eye and it's small enough to throw in your purse or carry alone it's it silk
