crappy day

i havent posted here in a while.. bman's ones made me wanna do it again, hehe
as u may know already, my hard disk died today taking all my data with it
getting all my music from my ipod is gonna be a pain, same as downloading all my steam games and stuff
a few received files im gonna have to try and get back, also stinks
but the worst part is that i've been kinda sorta trying to write a story (yeah, ok, laugh ahead ;p)
idk.. its pretty hard, but it was coming along nice, even tho it was still far from finished
i didnt make a backup cos i was just starting, but now i feel i should've, cos it kinda seems impossible to re write again
and that sucks the most

it happens to us once. but hopefully you learn ffrom this and make a backup of important files next time.

try having 2 400gb hdds die on you one one week one the following, that's painful, still programs can always be downloaded (legally or not) you can always request lost serials if you explain what has happened.
Hows this for ironic - i had a hdd die on me while i was backing it up to external drive
you'll get over it and take it as a lesson learnt.
As for the story i'll help you with that.
First write out your plot, what the story will follow, then write a bit about each character, bit of a bio. Then start to write your story drawing on what you have written as background for the characters and the plot.

I had a server disk die while I was backing it up
wiped out several years of IMAP email for several people, myself included.

i think HDs are the worst to fail, but the parts that do it most
im definitely making backups all the time now, even online (and yeah, the laptop came in really handy.. at least im not totally shutted off till i get the replacement *thanks osnn*)
thanks for the suggestions too, man.. i was doing it a bit like that
and luckily i have all my notes on paper, so those are saved, hehe
