What just happened? This is the neglected official blog of the Electronic Punk - http://www.electronicpunk.com - The as-of-yet-undecided-title-el-presidente of OSNN.net. He totally promises to blog more than twice a year.

Back in the UK

Posted January 9th, 2006 at 7:23pm by Electronic Punk (Electronic Blog)

Back from CES2006, was absolutely awesome and will be writing a full report over the next few days as well as getting the photos up (got a few, wish I had taken more of course).

Sadly my appartment had no internet access which made it really hard to blog about and at the event, far too many distractions. So stay tuned for that!

Flying out to Las Vegas

Posted January 3rd, 2006 at 6:09am by Electronic Punk (Electronic Blog)

I am flying out to Las Vegas tomorrow, starting at 7am tomorrow and travelling, after adjustments until 6:30pm - I have already been invited out to dinner, fortunatly it is a common fact that alcohol is a cure for Jetlag.

What am I looking forward to seeing? Never you mind! But while I am there I will be definately visiting the Coolermaster stand as I have some gear to pick up, more Microsoft stuff than I will be able to get my head around as well as a third party Xbox 360 mod that keeps it cool with water (or hopefully a highly conductive liquid of some sort).

Got my digital camera so expect lots of photos, hopefully most of them will be relevent.

Still packing at the moment and preparing for a long day tomorrow.

I’m still here chief

Posted December 19th, 2005 at 5:05pm by Electronic Punk (Electronic Blog)

That was obviously a line from "Frequency" dontchaknow, a film I really like and watched the other day for the third time, about an age where people had radios and talked to random people. Scary? **** knows where I am going with that.

Been a while since I updated my blog so I think I will make this a long one, har.
Firstly got some friends now on the right -->
Kunal of course, NetRyder from www.OSNN.net and Scott Adams who writes the Dilbert comic, a very funny blog indeed.

Got my car fixed, only cost me £130 (well I guess really it shouldn't have cost me anything though eh?) and involved getting an entire new door and spraying it from gold to blue (the colour of my car). The guy that did it for me did an absolutely stunning job - most pleased and told him that next time some drunkne idiot hit my car I would definately take it to him.

What else, erm - bought an Xbox 360. I had no intention of buying one this year, but having a real...

More Car Woes

Posted November 23rd, 2005 at 8:47pm by Electronic Punk (Electronic Blog)

Last night someone hit my car again putting a huge dent in the door panel I recently had fixed for £350 they also seem to have disrupted the brake electronics, so yeah, I am in a great ****ing mood. I have spent over £300 on my car this month already sorting the brakes out and then someone hits my car and then doesn't even have the decency to leave a note, so I get them to pay for it. I guess thats one of the problems of living opposite a pub, you get people who have blatently had too much to drink so don't stop on fear of being prosectuted or me noticing that they can't even walk properly.

In related news, more x64 stuff seems to be going on:
- Firstly NVIDIA have released yet more drivers, this time WHQL certified
- Alcohol 120% have announced that they will be offering 64bit soon, great news - has it only been 7 months?
- Logitech... well they have decided they may or may not support x64 in future driver releases, ****ing muppets.

****ing...

Defrag Quickie & Firewall Shocker

Posted November 21st, 2005 at 5:33am by Electronic Punk (Electronic Blog)

I was checking out the Raxco website the other day, I really can't remember why though - perhaps for licencing as it is something we are looking into.

Slight tangent, we are also looking into Diskeeper who actually rang the office the day, so I was delighted to tell them that I used Perfectdisk (hah!) but told them I would be happy to switch if they released an x64 version before Raxco. I really have no idea if I would really be happy to switch - never actually used Diskeeper.

My current solution is O&O defrag, which looks great and has some really cool features but the defrag options kinda confuse me. You would think that if you were doing an "modified" defrag it would put the most recently edited stuff at the end so it had the freedom to move around, with the files that never get modified well stacked. Guess not? But I'm not the expert...

Anyway, so I was looking on the Raxco site and I saw that they had updated their FAQ quite recently saying...
