That was obviously a line from "Frequency" dontchaknow, a film I really like and watched the other day for the third time, about an age where people had radios and talked to random people. Scary? **** knows where I am going with that.
Been a while since I updated my blog so I think I will make this a long one, har.
Firstly got some friends now on the right -->
Kunal of course, NetRyder from www.OSNN.net and Scott Adams who writes the Dilbert comic, a very funny blog indeed.
Got my car fixed, only cost me 」130 (well I guess really it shouldn't have cost me anything though eh?) and involved getting an entire new door and spraying it from gold to blue (the colour of my car). The guy that did it for me did an absolutely stunning job - most pleased and told him that next time some drunkne idiot hit my car I would definately take it to him.
What else, erm - bought an Xbox 360. I had no intention of buying one this year, but having a real problem with people beating me on ebay - which I guess isn't good. Eventually I won at a grand total of 」540 which is pretty obscene really but I have been keeping an eye on things and the ebay price really hasn't dropped recently and I am playing it alot, hammering Project Gotham - driving a Ferrari F50 which I think could be the fastest car in the game so now its just a matter of wrapping things up and seeing if I can get anywhere on the leaderboards (ranked no. 80 in the world for one of the tracks, but seeing as no-one can buy a damn Xbox that doesn't mean so much yet). Also got Perfect Dark but am not so impressed with that as basically the PC has Half-life 2, FEAR, FarCry, Doom3, Quake 4 so there isn't going to be anything to beat those for a while. Most recently, I have been playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted and have been having a great time.
The start of the game is brilliant the blend of cutscenes with FMV and gameplay is awesome and really makes you feel part of the game. Has now got a bit repetitive where you just gotta win a few races, piss the police off, speed past some cameras and then you go up the blacklist one point - currently at 8. I can't quite help feeling that this is a quick rehash of the other console versions, looks very pretty but doesn't quite have that 360 boost - this thing has 3 cores - use em! Talking of which the release of Burnout on the Xbox 360 is not just going to be a rehash and looks absolutely stunning, so that and Gears of War are going to be my next must have titles next year.
Accessories, I have two wireless controllers, a play and charge kit and the little remote that comes with the Premium kit. The wireless remotes are very cool mostly because they can be used to turn the consoles on and off. I no longer need to get out of bed - woo!
Yeah so I am gonna add an entry for ebay.co.uk in my host files so it resolves to 127.0.0.1, its dangerous and must be stopped. Also bought a Creative Zen Vision: M from Singapore, not arrived yet but could be any day, having a little trouble understanding the delivery companies notes so don't really know if it is in the country yet or not. Looks very cool, 30 gig and can play pretty much anything you throw at it.
Currently bidding on a Nokia 8800 and trying not to bid on Xbox faceplates for over 」75 just because they are limited in some fashion.
Getting very excited about going to Vegas next month, will be hitting up Coolermaster while I am there and getting a few parts to convert my CPU-cooling aquagate into a HDD, VGA and Northbridge cooler. I still need some parts but have sprayed the front black to fit in with my case and is looking very cool indeed. Can't wait to finish it.
Should be a new build of Vista today so will hopefully be getting that installed tonight. The December CTP, which hasn't had any notes or anything leaked but I guess things must be getting better as progress goes further forward and it will be the first build I will have got to play with since the October CTP.
I am sure there is more, but will update with new bloggage as I remember.
