So some of you might know that I am heading to Las Vegas in March 2010, if you read my thread about the HD Camera.

My budget is $10,000 for the entire trip. Some people think this is extreme, some think not enough, I think it's just right. Just, wanted to state that to point out I should be able to do anything there.

My question is this, how many of you have been there, and what do you suggest me to do. Any ideas, musts, awesome things to see. I have of course already read 1000 reviews and suggestions from sites and people I know, but I would like to see what I get from here.

This is going to be my trip of a life time. I will be doing everything there, even skydiving, swiming with dolphins, and anything. Just want to see what people here suggest.

$10,000 ? are you crazy?? seriously are you getting a suite or something 3 grand a night.

    $1200 round tip flight (roughly)
Hotel, all you need is a place to sleep/shower, I usually stay at the flamingo. usually avg price $150 a night. 4 days is long enough in vegas, trust me I have been there 20+ times.

Gambling money, well if you are Mr. moneybags high-roller then knock yourself out. But $10,000!!! Dude thats crazy...........

    Vegas is for Gambling. period

just Ignore the Mexican porn dudes slapping Escort Porn cards in your face while you walk the strip @ night. LOL!@ you will know what I mean when you experience it.

Enjoy yourself. Old downtown is full of pickpockets so watch your wallet.

Oh I searched around, I know you can find cheap hotels. And cheap flights. I am getting a cheap flight. And for me the hotel will not only be slept in, a bit more going on there then that. But yes, most of the time will be spent out and about. I still want an amazing room.

But no I ain't getting no Villa room, I am paying around $4,000 for the week, its 853SqF, and has all kinds of nice things with it. $10,000 is flight, camera, hotel, booze and food, shows and other attractions, skydiving and dolphin swimming and other things like that, car rental, and a few other things I probably forgot to mention. I do not gamble either.

And oh I know about pickpockets, one thing I am worried about.

PS, I have seen flights leaving here (Ottawa) to Vegas for like $300CAD, amazing.

Way too much. Check in to the hotel and buy a grand worth of chips than just walk around for while. Let them comp you the room . $4000 for the week is excessive, hell even time shares are cheaper. Seriously, lookin to the Hotel rooms... right now you can book a suite for less, they are practically giving rooms away to get people to visit.

Catch some of the shows for sure. Bad news is, before the recession if you wanted to catch one of the big name entertainers they were sold out 6 months ahead. Of course with $10k to spend you can probably find some scalpers.

If I end up in the Bellagio, I believe cirque du soleil is in that building. So at least I would have that.

doesn't matter where you end up, you can buy the tickets at discount for any show on he strip. I believe there is a discount ticket seller that deals in all shows. We caught Blue Man group for $40 dollars less than show price at the Venetian at we were not even at the hotel. Discounts are all over the place for Vegas right now.

Well my point was, its 7 months away. My budget is $10,000. I might end up spending 10 times less, or whatever. Basically I will be doing anything and everything, and will be able too

I want to go just for the sights and Star Trek: The Experience which I hope will be there when I go one day.

    I'm not one for gambling.

I was their in January this year. Watched four shows, my favorite was Le Reeve at the Wynn.

I'd suggest renting a car, taking a day and driving to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam along the way. I was with friends and it was a fun trip. The hours seemed to pass by quick especially if you've never been to the southwest.

If you have friends that live in Vegas, definitely have them show you around. Vegas is definitely best experienced with friends.

As for your budget, 10k is ridiculously high. I stayed downtown only a few minutes from the strip for 29 bucks a night. The car rental for a week was the biggest single expense.

Originally I wanted a car (limo) but had no drivers license, by the time I will be going there, I should have one now. So that is a good idea
