Default pc not running at fullest?

i have a feeling my pc isn't running as well as it should be..or maybe its just me?
i have :

windows xp pro sp2
BFG geforce 6800 ultra (71.24)
2gbs of 3200 ddr ram (512x4)
amd 64 fx 2.4 (939 pin)
asus A8v deluxe

i get around 4000 on the 3dmark05 (1024x768, no AA, filtering optimal, im not sure what other options i should be checking..)

so am i getting what i should be getting?

What bios rev is your mobo? think its now up to 1008

Athlon 64 3800 : Asus A8v Deluxe : 2x512meg corsair XMS XL PRO : Maxtor 120gb : nvidia 6800 Ultra OC

but you dont have to update your bios try defragmenting your hard drive first to some check to your computer before updating your bios

You also might want to check your timings on the ram. Isn't there something about how if you have 4 slots of ram filled you have to change from 2T to 1T?

i defragged no change.. what is this about memory?
and also...i have some small problems with my monitor... it sometimes displays...i dunno how to say it..static? small bars at the top right, when there are things overlapping. is there anything i need to set for my proccessor in the setup?

it is an LG 17" flatscreen by the way..using digital connection

what was your cpu score in 3dmark 05?

i ran both cpu tests with 1024x768, no AA, filtering optimal, HLSL VS 3.0, PS 3.0, fixed framerate off

i got 4741

have you installed the chipset drivers?
installing the chipset drivers (if not installed) will enable the graphics card to work in AGP mode, instead of the PCI mode they default to... just a thought.

Computer specs are.. interesting, but yeah.
